INLA / AIDN
The International Nuclear Law Association/Association Internationale du Droit Nucléaire was founded in Brussels in late 1970 by a group of nuclear lawyers, with finalization of its Statutes and incorporation taking place in 1972. Its purpose is to promote the study of legal issues associated with the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to encourage the exchange of information in this field. Every two years, it organises a Congress called “Nuclear Inter Jura” in which nuclear lawyers and specialists worldwide participate. INLA membership counts some 500 members.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF INLA
MESSAGE DU PRESIDENT DE L’AIDN
Dear INLA Members,
On behalf of myself and the INLA Board of Management, we send greetings to all for the New Year and wishes of health and happiness as we move forward during these still pandemic-impacted times. This message also greets you with plans for an “in person” Congress 2022, in Washington, DC, this fall. Planning for Congress ’22 is well underway. We are building on the tremendous support during the Virtual Congress 2021 received from our membership generally, as well the individual INLA Working Groups.
Also, as we plan on gathering this coming fall, we will include as part of the Congress ’22 theme the recognition, as representatives involved in the international legal structure related to nuclear power, of the next era of nuclear power and impactful legal topics. As this is the Fiftieth Anniversary of INLA as an organization, let’s include in our Congress ’22 discussions and presentations consideration of where we may go, where we need to go, in the legal framework of the industry in the coming fifty
years.
Looking forward to seeing you in the fall.
Bill Horin
(President, International Nuclear Law Association)
