2016 International Nuclear Law Essentials (INLE)

The programme for the 2016 International Nuclear Law Essentials (INLE) course – organized by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency – has just been announced!

This year’s International Nuclear Law Essentials (INLE) course will take place from 15 to 19 February at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris. Comprehensive lectures will be delivered by over 20 renowned specialists in nuclear law from international organisations, governments and private industry. Don’t miss the chance to learn about the various interrelated legal issues relating to the safe, efficient and secure use of nuclear energy. A number of important topics will be covered, including:

  • nuclear safety;
  • international radiological protection standards;
  • management of spent fuel and radioactive waste;
  • nuclear activities and environmental law;
  • transport of nuclear materials and fuel;
  • liability, compensation and insurance for nuclear damage;
  • non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and international safeguards for nuclear materials;
  • nuclear security: physical protection, illicit trafficking and terrorism;
  • nuclear project development;
  • international trade in nuclear materials and equipment.

This five-day intensive course has been designed to accommodate the practical needs and interests of lawyers working in either the public or the private sector but will be of interest also to scientists, engineers, policymakers, managers and other professionals working in the nuclear field.
